For some reason I was having issues writing a bio so I stuck with the Rubric!

Well, here goes!

1) It begins with a name. I'm Erin DeJoseph.

Everyone calls me Erin so that shouldn't be too hard to learn, no crazy nicknames.:)

2) The Where. I was born and raised in Prescottt,AZ and have lived here for 18 years. We have the "Worlds Oldest Rodeo" but I still to this day have never been.

3) Academia. I just graduated from Prescott High School. College is on hold until after Cambodia. When I return I plan on attended our local community college and then transferring to Northern Arizona University to get my degree in Early Childhood Education which will certify me to teach birth through third grade.

4) Nine to Five. I have been working at a little Italian restaurant called Papa's Italian Restaurant since May 2009. I am a server and I absolutely love my job, my customers, and my co-workers. Plus it is the most delicious Italian food ever! I spend a majority of my time at work but thats how I like to spend my time.

5) Killing Time. I don't get a lot of spare time because I am always working but when I do I spend it with my friends and family. I love spending time with my three older sisters and my parents. My family and I love to play board games, watch movies, and eat yummy food. There isn't much to do in this town so normally after work my boyfriend and I go people watching at Walmart. This may seem strange and totally lame but it is actually pretty entertaining to go to Walmart late at night and see who comes out. Yes, I know I am weird. I love basketball and I am obssessed with the Phoenix Suns. I also like to hike and spend time outside. In high school I loved being with our youth group. I have been teaching sunday school since I was in Eigth grade and I absolutely adore kids!

6) The Important Stuff. I like trying new things especially if it involves trying interesting food, I will be the first to step up to try something new. I love to read and write. I am a pretty loud person, I mean I am Italian, it is expected! Did I tell you already that everyone thinks that I am weird? I just think I am unique :)  I am an easy person to get a long with and I love to laugh and have fun:)

7) Previous Experience. I have not been out of the country at all or on any missions trips, that is until tonight. I actually leave for Peru tonight for ten days. I am very excited but I am very nervous. I have never been on an airplane before so tonight will be a first but I did go on a helicopter ride a few weeks ago and it was awesome so I think I will like it!

8) The Nit N' Gritty. For awhile now, God has been laying missions on my heart and I continued to run from it. Long story short, things kind of just fell into place for me to do missions. God was clearly saying “Erin its about time you do what I really want you to do and get out of your comfort zone.” I have always been interested in the topic of Sex Trafficking since we saw a video called “Baht” at our CIY Conference. I even chose Sex Trafficking as my topic for my senior paper, so its almost as if God has been filling my life with little hints and helpful things to prepare myself for this. I have always wanted to help these girls and I never thought I would get the opportunity until now. The injustice these girls and children face in horrifying and it makes my blood boil. The more I learn about it, the more angry and upset it makes me and now I finally have a chance to do something about it. I am most excited to show these girls true love, the love of Christ Jesus. I am ready to be broken and stretched and just grow closer to my Lord.

So now I am here. Little Erin DeJoseph, fresh out of high school and going to Cambodia for three months. As scary as it is, my excitement overcomes the fear. I am so excited to go on this trip to love on these girls and to grow closer to God. I am excited to get to know each and every one of you and build relationships with you, and most of all I am excited to do the Lords work in a place that doesn’t know him. I want to be his hands and his feet and help the people in need.

See you in less then two months!!

Erin
