Hey dudes! So, it looks like I'm the token Canadian for this trip :)

A little bit about moi....

I was born in Peterborough, Ontario and lived there with my fam until about age 7. We then moved to Calgary, Alberta, and we've lived here ever since. I'm an only child (it's the best :D) and we live in a tiny apartment that's perfect for the three of us. Both my parents are Christians, so I grew up in the church.

By the time high school came around, I started to fall away from the church and from God. I started swearing enough to make a sailor blush, started stealing and started drinking profusely once I turned eighteen, getting drunk almost every weekend.

Then, through an amazing girl by the name of Allison (allisonprysiazny.theworldrace.org), who is now my best friend and mentor, God slowly redeemed me. We got to know each other at work, every day after school I would come in for my shift, and we would talk and got to know each other. One day she invited me to a youth conference that was coming up, so I went. There, God planted the seed. I could hear His voice again. And that sort of spiritual high  you get from those weekends, you know how they go away after a day or two, well this one didn't.

Eventually, she invited me to a young adults church she goes to on Monday nights. I've been going there for almost two years now, and God has been redeeming me more and more. I stopped the swearing, the drunkenness, the stealing, and every other thing that I needed to sever from my life. Some things stopped almost immediately, others took time, but God has been with me through every step of this amazing journey.

So, how did I get involved with the fight against human trafficking?

I was going to university for my music major this past year. It was my first year. I saw a video at my Monday night church. And it stuck with me for several months. So I prayed the dangerous prayer and told God, "Here am I. Send me." So He is. And I'm so excited to see what He does in this next season of time :)

What are my plans after the trip?

No idea. I gave my life to God, literally. I told Him to do whatever He wants with me, even if it means I don't know what the plan is. Yeah, it drives me nuts sometimes, because I like to know what the plan is. God made me a planner, but He knows I like surprises sometimes too :)

Random facts about me:

I'm kind of ridonculously short :)

I have several tattoos and piercings, planning on more tats. I'm a big fan of em :) The three tats I have right now are a treble clef on my left forearm, "You're My Beloved" below my left collarbone (for Jesus :)), and the greek word τετέλεσται which means "It is finished." And I know you can guess who said that ;)

Music is a huge part of my life. I listen to anything and everything from classical to jazz to hip hop to reggae to folk to heavy metal. I like it all, although I'm picky on what rap and country I listen to.

I'm more introverted than anything, so it takes a while to get to know me, but once you do, I'm really fun, I promise :)

The phrases you will hear out my mouth the most are "dude", "ridonculous", "stellar",  "boo yah", "all up in mah grill!", "seriously harshin my mellow" and "eh?"

I'm kind of really, really, Canadian. I love Tim Hortons coffee (pretty much injecting it in my veins before I go 3 months without it), bacon, maple syrup, and touques are my best friend in the winter.

Sarcasm is my second language.

Grammar and spelling are my best friends.

I'm really stubborn and impatient at times.

I like making funny faces at the most random of times.

Can't wait to meet everyone!

P.S. We don't have Chik-Fil-A here in Canada, so once I get to the states for our launch date, would someone pretty please mind taking me there if we have time? I hear it's amazing :D
