Hi guys!

SO pleased to meet you and even more excited to meet you guys in person! My name is Sarah Garrity and the following is a little bit about me :).

* Born and raised and currently live in...Louisville, KY! (And, why yes, we Kentuckians wear shoes! Well, most of us anyway.  ;) ) I’m also 22 years old and am severely hearing impaired, but no worries, I wear hearing aids and read lips!

* The oldest of...3…and all of us are...girls!

* Currently lives on...a farm! (Goats, chickens, dogs, turtles, and I'm a proud new mother hen to baby chicks and baby guinea hens!) I used to be a wrangler (interpretation for you city girls: take care of horses!) and train horses back in the good ole' days ;).

* Just graduated from...Union University in Jackson, Tennessee! (Yes, the school that got hit by the huge F-4 on 2/5/08. This made freshman year very exciting. Haha.) My degree is in Education, not that I want to be a teacher or anything though ;).

* To date, has traveled to...11 different countries for both pleasure and missions! (Italy, Greece, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Hungry, Russia, Israel, Haiti, England, and South Africa. I’m so excited to get to learn the cultures in and meet the peoples of Cambodia!) I’ve also done countless mission trips State-side.

* Likes...reading, discipleship, David Platt’s sermons, playing the piano (albeit badly), working with animals, learning, hanging out with family and friends, doing daring things, watching movies, volunteering, traveling, funyaking, going on adventures and kids!

* Dislikes...spiders, ticks, gardening, the white-picket-fence American dream, and oppression in any form, especially toward children.

* Currently employed… as a nanny to the same 3 awesome kids that I’ve nannied for the past 3 summers!

* I feel… way in over my head about ministering in Cambodia to people involved in sex-trafficking, but I’m completely psyched about it at the same time! I believe that this trip will be instrumental in preparing me for the full-time ministry in Israel that I’ve been called to do since I was 8 years old. (It’s a really cool story but I will have to tell you it in person!) I’ve worked a lot with crisis pregnancy centers and with orphanages, and working against sex-trafficking is the next thing I’m really interested in. I want to, one day, combine all these ministries together to fight multiple injustices in Israel head-on. I believe that Cambodia is going to break me, stretch me, grow me and, I pray, decrease me and increase Christ! I’m excited to learn how the ministry is run, to develop relationships with the girls there and to get to know all of you guys! :)
